About our Principal CoUNSELLOR
Wendy Maria is an empathic and compassionate counsellor who has worked with adults, couples and families in a range of settings. With a strong belief that positive change in her clients is always possible, she works from a person-centered and compassion-focused stance and incorporates into her practice a wide range of therapeutic modalities including Sandplay Therapy, EMDR techniques, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Therapies, Emotion-Focused Therapy and Systemic Family Therapy in her work with adults, couples and families.
In addition, is passionate about helping children and teenagers and was previously an educator and counsellor with the Ministry of Education (MOE). Over the past two decades, she has worked tirelessly with children and teenagers undergoing a whole range of psychological issues, including trauma, anxiety (academic), depression, anxiety disorders, crisis, grief and loss, self-esteem, anger management, specific phobias, attachment-related difficulties, transition stress, social media issues and relationship challenges.
Wendy Maria has a Master in Social Science (Professional Counselling) from Swinburne University and a Practice Certificate in Systemic and Family Therapy (Willamsroad Family Therapy Centre). She has worked with a wide range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults and couples in schools and social service settings.
Wendy is a member of the Singapore Association for Counselling. She is also a certified Sandplay Therapist (Expressive Therapies Australia) and holds a Certificate in Art Therapy (College of Educational and Clinical Art Therapy).
